Michael
K. Gulotty
Regional Vice President of Operations
Mr. Gulotty has over 20 years of hospitality related experience. He has
served as Controller, Director of Finance, Director of Food Beverage, Director
of Conference Services, Catering Sales and Operations, Assistant General
Manager, Operations Manager, and General Manager for some of the finest
Companies and privately held individual properties in the U.S., including:
Marriott Corporation, Crossroads Hospitality (Inter-State Hotels limited
service division, Ramada Inn Hotel, Schenectady, NY), Sentry III, Ltd,
Seasons Resort (former 565 room Playboy Club-New Jersey), The Marietta
Conference Center & Resort, The Desmond (Americana Franchise originally)
Hotel and Convention Center, and most recently The Waterford Hotel & Conference
Center. Mr. Gulotty also owned and operated a full service Restaurant and
Banquet Facility, and has trained with masters at The Otesaga Hotel and
The Georgian Resort.
Enjoying and capitalizing on many great opportunities
during his career, Mr. Gulotty has a series of accomplishments and honors.
While with the
Marriott Corporation in the early 80’s, he co-developed the “Mystery
Shopper” program which was implemented through out the Marriott’s
Food Service Division a s a part of a national marketing campaign, “Respect”,
designed to acquire and retain accounts. As Director of Conference Services
and Catering Sales at the Desmond, his yield management and sales strategies
in both Rooms and Food & Beverage, over a 2 year period, increased
property revenues enough that the Desmond was ranked fourth in the country
for revenue per available room during Mr. Gulotty’s tenure. He
has taken his experience in sales, marketing, and operations to successfully
improve the fiscal and operational performance of every facility he has
been associated with.
Mr. Gulotty has always been recognized as a leader
by his peers, staff,
Organized Labor officials, and his community. He served as a committee
chairman for the City of Schenectady’s Economic Development Council.
He was selected, by the New York State Black and Puerto Rican Caucus
as liaison to the Albany Mayors Office and Convention and Visitors’ Bureau,
to dissipate tensions and stop this major lobbying group from moving
out of the capital city. He has been recognized and recommended by the
AFL-CIO
Hotel and Restaurant Employees Union for generating topline and maximizing
the bottom line, which inherently protects employees.
In addition to
his formal education at SUNY Binghamton, Mr. Gulotty has received specialized
training in Hospitality Management including Marketing,
Service, and Financial Controls Management. To round out his operations
understanding, Mr. Gulotty trained with Certified Master Chef Carl
Rosen. He is highly skilled with, and has built and implemented several,
Hospitality
related Technical/Informational systems, including Property Management,
POS, Rooms Management, and Back Office/Accounting.
Mr. Gulotty is a
member of the Advisory Board for First Southen Bank. Other hospitality
and community related memberships are: Meeting Planners
International
(MPI), Palm Beach County Hotel and Motel Association, Palm Beach
County Convention and Visitors Bureau, Florida Hospitality Association,
Chambers
of Commerce in Palm Beach, Northern Palm Beach, Jupiter, and Jacksonville.
